Maserati is the famous Italian automotive company that manufactures racing and sports cars and was founded in 1914 by Alfieri Maserati in Bologna, Italy. It had a partnership with Ferrari and then went bankrupt like of most luxury car manufacturers. Between 1968 and 1975, the Citroën owned Maserati and production began again. In 1993, Maserati has become subsidiary of FIAT Chrysler Automobiles who owned Ferrari.

Located in Bologna, the city where the Maserati brothers were born, the fountain of Neptune was an inspiration for the trident logo of Maserati.

The Maserati logo consists of several different colors. The trident in the logo is red. “Maserati” text is placed on the blue background at the bottom of the logo. The trident is located above the blue section in the white background. This design makes the logo modern and stylish.

Although Ferrari and Alfa Romeo had successful racing dates, both of them failed to win the first place in the Indianapolis 500 race. In this important car race, known as Indy 500, Maserati is the only Italian car brand ever champion.

In the latest verion of the Maserati logo, the text and oval section of the logo has been removed. Only the trident is used as a logo.
